“I had no idea you’d have such a great selection – now I have to buy loads!” Thanks to everyone who donated plants and cakes for our fundraiser on the 7th June, we raised almost £1,200 in total and there’s still more plants available!
Simon’s RHS Badminton Pocket Garden
BATCOM director Simon Deeves is building a community composting-inspired garden this year at RHS Badminton – if you haven’t heard about it, please read the blurb in his crowdfunder, it’s great!
Simon is so close to his target, raising funds to cover costs not only to purchase and install the plants but also to dismantle and redistribute after the show – many plants will be going to a new garden at Thrupp School and some might come to BATCOM. Take care with Laurel trimmings
Did you know that laurel cuttings produce a potentially lethal gas called hydrogen cyanide? Avoid inhalation, protect your skin and eyes and do not transport fresh laurel cuttings to BATCOM in the car – let them sit outside for a while first and if you must drive them, keep them covered and ensure your windows are wide open….
